The technology industry has been promoting the benefits of the Internet of Things (IoT) for more than a decade. In theory, connecting physical devices to the Internet will make life easier for consumers while giving companies new business opportunities and greater control over their operations and business processes.
A recent Interop survey of technology decision makers found that the vast majority of organizations are investigating and investing in IoT technology — but they are doing it slowly and cautiously. They are still figuring out how to secure IoT devices and how IoT deployments might help improve their business.
